HOW IT BEGAN:
Each year, Lehosheet Yad provides a life changing experience for children who are suffering from severe, sometimes fatal, illnesses.
An organization born and bred in Israel, under the directorship of Rabbi Avraham Attar, Lehosheet Yad, literally meaning to ‘extend a hand’, takes the idea of ‘giving’ to a whole new level.
The Israeli organization, started in 2005 by a group of volunteers, aims to relieve the day to day suffering and tension surrounding the family of a child who is suffering from acute illness, namely cancer and cerebral palsy. Lehosheet Yad seeks to provide:
• Individual attention to the cancer patients and their needs
• Support for patients and their families
• Helping ease the families’ financial and logistical burden
• Activities and a game room at the hospital
• Bringing performers to the patient wards
Rabbi Attar oversees the staff and their training, ensuring the volunteers and the members who are doing their National Service for Israel in this setting, are always there and ready to give a hand.
LEHOSHEET YAD LA:
Lehosheet Yad LA dedicated in loving memory of Adir Moshe Vered. It is an offshoot of its mother organization in Israel. It began with a vision, a tentative attempt to offer children in Israel strickenmwith severe illness, a glimmer of happiness and joy. Would there be a way to somehow bring the children from Israel to the glorious shores of the United States and offer them a week of Hollywood style entertainment, from beautiful hotels, to exciting trips, to non stop entertainment and fun?
With some careful planning and thought, the dream became a reality.
In LA, Lehosheet Yad is under the auspices of Chabad of North Hollywood. Our goal is to provide a measure of normality and a reprieve from the grueling treatment and endless suffering that these children go through on a day to day basis. The children are brought to the United States and treated to a whirlwind vacation packed with activities and trips that most regular children can only dream of.
HOW WE DO IT
Chaperoned carefully by a team of pediatric oncologists to ensure the health and safety of the children, the group are taken to some of the most popular LA attractions. Destinations include Disneyland, Universal Studios, San Diego and Las Vegas. Counselors recruited from the local surrounding communities spearhead the exciting atmosphere and provide a constant ambiance of positive energy and ludicrous fun.
The children are put up in area hotels by and also have transportation as fitting to their needs, provided.
The highlight of the trip is a grand banquet, where the children and the supporters enjoy an evening of meaning and inspiration. As children who go through trials and tribulations far beyond their age and comfort, the sheer exhilaration of experiencing a trip like this one is a welcome distraction from their turbulent life and is something that will leave them with lifelong memories and a warm glow in their brave little hearts.
Is Lehosheet yad legit or is this a scammy cancer ad?
I get a ton of those lately and they're just so sad and make me want to help, but I simply don't know if this is a scam or not. there's a couple of them that lead to a Drove site for fund raising.
Has anyone else been getting 'Save Victoria' adds, the video of a small baby fighting cancer and her mother who is trying to gather money for her treatment is heartbreaking and the child really looks ill, but for the life of me, I really can't tell if the whole thing is legit. There are others as well, most feature children from Ukraine.

But when they want you to make a bank transfer on the Drove site (first link I posted) they ask you to write "Lehoshit Yad for Victoria". notice the name difference — LehoSHIT, not Lehosheet.

Я думаю навязчивая реклама сборов денег тяжелобольным детям попадалась на ютубе уже всем. Мамы рыдают, дети рыдают, а жизнь можете спасти только вы.
Ничего плохо в сборах тяжелобольным детям, да и не только детям, я не вижу. Сама регулярно помогаю, а потому научилась отличать мошенников, от тех, кому реально нужна помощь.
Реклама на ютубе сразу же вызвала у меня вопросы, но я все никак не могла понять, взаправду ли все это или постановка.
Попробовала покопаться в интернете, но толковой информации мало.
Итак, что меня смущало и продолжает смущать.
Сама реклама на ютубе. Ни для кого не секрет, что это дорогое удовольствие и на это нужны деньги. Большие деньги.
Сумма сборов. Я участвовала в сборах детям СМАйликам, онкобольным, а также детям с ДЦП. Только у СМАйликов суммы сбора огромные. Потому что сам препарат стоит безумных денег (самое дорогое лекарство в мире). У онкобольных самая большая сумма, которую я видела была 400000евро. И это скорее исключение, обычно цифры варьируются в пределах 150-300 тысяч. В сборах же на сайте Drove суммы огромные у всех. И они меняются. Следила за несколькими сборами и когда сумма на сайте подошла к 70-80%, сумма сбора резко увеличивалась в два раза!
Отсутствие какой-либо документации. Нет даже полных имен и даты рождения, тех кому собирают деньги. Нет точной информации по диагнозу.
Отдельно я гуглила фонды, которые объявляют сборы на этом сайте. Фонды существуют и вроде бы действительно помогают. Но найти на сайтах фондов тех детей, что есть в рекламе я не смогла.
В общем, я для себя решила, что переводить деньги сюда не буду. Есть масса сборов в том же инстаграме, где есть все документы, регулярно родители отвечают на все вопросы и суммы сборов обоснованные, приложен счет из клиники и т. д. и т. п. Мне комфортнее будет помогать им и знать, что деньги точно идут на благое дело, а не думать, а вдруг мошенники или еще что-то.
