Metamask?
1. Откройте свой Metamask.
Metamask?
Metamask.
Процесс добавления NFT в Metamask
1. Откройте свой Metamask.
How to Add Custom Tokens to MetaMask
Metamask is a software cryptocurrency wallet that helps users manage Ethereum and Ethereum-based cryptocurrency. It is available as a browser extension as well as a mobile application. It is regarded as one of the most secure and popular crypto wallets.
- 1 Checking the Search List
- 2 Adding an Existing Token to Metamask
- 3 Adding a Custom Token to Metamask
- 3.1 Step 1: Search Metamask
- 3.2 Step 2: Search Etherscan for Token Profile
- 3.3 Step 3: Get Token Contract Address from Profile
- 3.4 Step 4: Add Token Contract Address to Metamask
Metamask supports many popular tokens by default but newer or less popular tokens may not be immediately available. Fortunately, any ERC-20 or ERC-721 compatible token can be added relatively easily to Metamask in a few easy steps.
Note: Metamask has a separate NFT section where ERC-721 tokens are viewable
Checking the Search List
Metamask comes with a long list of tokens that can be added with a simple click. Use the Metamask coin search feature to check whether the token you wish to add support for has already been defined by Metamask. This is done in three simple steps:
- Click the “Add Token” button on the desired Metamask account menu;
- Click within the search field and begin typing the name of the token;
- Scroll down the list to check for a match.
These tokens represent any number of Ethereum-based records of which there are currently more than 450K at the time of writing. As you can imagine, Metamask doesn’t populate the search list with all possible tokens.
Adding an Existing Token to Metamask
If your token is listed in the default search list—adding support in Metamask is as simple as clicking the token result, clicking the add token button, and then confirming in your account view. After this process, you should then see the token (with your related balance) in the main account view of Metamask. The image below illustrates the process for adding the $AAVE token to an account in Metamask:

In this case, adding a token was as simple as clicking a few buttons. The process for adding a token that isn’t listed on Metamask is a bit different—but still straightforward.
Adding a Custom Token to Metamask
There are a growing number of cases where an ERC-20 token or ERC-721 token (NFT) will not automagically appear in the Metamask wallet. In such cases, users are required to add tokens by reference to the token’s contract address.
Services like Etherscan and Coingecko make finding these contract addresses simple enough, but one should always reference the official website of the token to ensure correctness. Let’s walk through adding a custom token using the following steps:
- Search Metamask to confirm a custom token add is required;
- Lookup the token contract address on Etherscan;
- Confirm the address is the officially recognized contract address;
- Add the token address and precision value to Metamask
Step 1: Search Metamask
In this picture, we see the $DYDX coin is not available from the existing Metamask token list (click to enlarge)
Step 2: Search Etherscan for Token Profile
Visit the etherscan.io website and type in the token symbol (DYDX in this case) into the search field on the homepage. You may see your result from the dropdown—you can click that result. Otherwise, hit ENTER or click the search icon to bring up the token information page.
A search for the token brings up the link to the token profile page on Etherscan. (Click to enlarge)
Step 3: Get Token Contract Address from Profile
Etherscan provides lots of useful information related to tokens via profile pages. Here you can find official token websites, social profiles, recent on-chain transactions, and more. More notable coins will have a blue verification checkmark indicating the official nature of the profile page. We’re after the token contract address, shown in the image below:
Click the token contract address to copy the hash to your system’s clipboard. (click to enlarge)
Click the copy/paste icon next to the token address (shown on mouse-hover) to copy the value to your system’s clipboard. This will allow easy entry into the Metamask account.
Step 4: Add Token Contract Address to Metamask
Using the contract address from Step 3, we can now add the token to our Metamask account. The steps for this process are outlined in the image below:
Paste the contract address into Metamask, Click the Add button, then confirm. (click to enlarge)
At this point, our Metamask wallet is set up to send and receive the new custom token! As if this process wasn’t seamless enough, etherscan makes things even easier with their custom Metamask integration. By clicking the more dropdown menu, you can automatically add the custom token to your Metamask as shown in the image below:
Clicking the “Add to Metamask” skips all the copy/pasting and directly adds the custom token to your Metamask wallet (Click to enlarge)
Final Thoughts
Metamask is a great software wallet and one of the most popular and secure on the market. Creating accounts on Metamask is super easy—but keep in mind that accounts cannot be deleted.
Having dozens of accounts can making keeping track of your tokens burdensome. On the other hand, having multiple accounts can help maximize exposure during airdrop events where tokens are often distributed by address—not by user.
By contrast, Metamask allows users to “hide” tokens should they add several and later decided they’d prefer not to have their wallet cluttered. Typically, the hide option is used for tokens with a zero balance.
Your First Blockchain (ETH / ERC20) Wallet
In this tutorial, you will learn how to create, use, and safeguard your Metamask blockchain wallet.
Through this one-time setup, you would be able to manage cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and other Ethereum compatible (ERC20, ERC721) tokens. We will be using ETH in our examples.
By the end of the tutorial, you should have created for yourself a unique set of alphnumeric strings. They look like:
ETH Wallet Address: **0x3bBa70bcFD98C2a8718140497e88f51Fbf80E766**
Secret Phrase: easily teach theme bubble normal army level trade paper concert shock butter margin october candy neither rib frost recycle special blade exotic tennis
NOTE: These are examples only. Do NOT transfer any cryptocurrencies to the above address.
Your ETH wallet address can be shared with anyone. Like your physical home address, it basically tells others where others can send funds to you.
WARNING: Your Secret (Seed) Phrase is your only proof-of-ownership. You should NEVER, EVER share your seed phrase with ANYONE. Anyone with this seed phrase has complete control over your wallet and all of its funds. You do not need to share the Private Key to do transactions or receive NFTs.
It is important that you store your seed phrase in a safe place. The blockchain is a decentralized system, and if you forget or misplace your seed phrase, there is NOBODY who can ever retrieve your funds, or access your lost wallet.
NOTE: only send ETH and ETH-compatible tokens (ERC20, ERC721, ERC1155) to your Metamask wallet address. Each blockchain (ETH and others) have their own type of wallet addresses and are generally incompatible. This tutorial covers only on ETH. For transacting with other cryptocurrencies and blockchains, please consider our future tutorials.
Step 1: Install Metamask
Metamask is one of the most popular blockchain wallets. To connect to blockchain (web3) enabled websites and web apps, we need to first install a browser extension.
We can install Metamask on Google Chrome, Firefox, iOS, and Android. This tutorial will cover setting up on the Chrome browser.
Click Install MetaMask for Chrome to visit the Chrome Web Store
Click Add To Chrome to install
Click Get Started to begin set up
After installation, you may want to pin Metamask to have it easily visible on your browser ( click on the puzzle icon, then click pin besides the Metamask icon )
You’ve now completed installation of Metamask and as ready to begin using it.
Step 2: Create a Metamask wallet and get your wallet address and secret seed phrase.
Click Get Started to begin set up
Now click Create a Wallet
REMINDER: if you are not setting up for the first time (e.g. setting up on another computer), you can click “Import wallet” and use your seed phrase to use your existing wallet.
Metamask will ask you to opt-in to an anonymous data collection program. Feel free to click No Thanks .
Note: This program will not in any way affect your usage of Metamask, nor will it compromise any security settings. For this tutorial, click No Thanks.
Set up a Metamask password. This password is not part of the blockchain wallet, but it’s for your convenience to use when on a computer shared by other users. Losing this password would cause an inconvenience, as you would need to import your wallet using your secret seed phrase. Please take care to remember this password.
(Optional) you are welcome to take time to watch the security best practice video. When you’re done, click Next Page .
Metamask will create a Secret Recovery Phrase (Seed Phrase). Remember this is your ONLY WAY to: i) import your wallet and access your funds, and ii) recovery your wallet if you forget your password. If possible, take care to write the phrase on a paper and securely store it in a place where only you can access.
Metamask will ask you to confirm the entire phrase in the correct order.
Now, you’ve completed the Metamask setup!
You can find your ETH blockchain wallet address under “Account 1”, in the partially hidden text in light gray. Simply click the copy icon to get the entire address. This address is the unique location on the blockchain that is owned by you, and can start receive cryptocurrencies and NFTs.
Congratulations! You now have created: —
- Your Metamask Wallet (with an ETH address), and
- Your Secret Recovery Phrase (aka Seed Phrase)
Your Metamask wallet is ready to be used
Your ETH wallet address can be shared with anyone.
